Jade's Shelter Slumber Pawty 🐈‍⬛

My daughter, Jade (10), and I have been volunteering at Feline Urgent Rescue for 3.5 years. Every week, we help care for these cats by cleaning their rooms, playing with them, and giving them lots of treats and pets. Jade knows their names and knows their stories, and especially loves to draw portraits of them. Every week, we meet new cats that come from very difficult situations with a range of medical needs from routine de-worming and flea treatments to life-sustaining surgeries. We've witnessed the complete 180° in a cat's personality when they've had that painful tooth removed-- from grouchy and hissy to content and loving. We've seen cats rescued from hoarding situations with skin diseases be healed and their coat restored to its natural beauty. Recently, we've watched a young cat recover from a leg amputation and finally have pain-free range of movement. We've seen the staff and volunteers endeavor each day to ensure every permanent cat resident at FUR remains healthy and is living their best life until the very end.

It is important that we fundraise for FUR's medical fund so that we can continue to save more cat's lives and help them find their furever homes!
