FUR of WNC's Shelter Slumber Pawty

For the second year in a row, Feline Urgent Rescue of WNC is thrilled to take part in the Shelter Slumber Pawty, a 24‑hour celebration of compassion, community, and the cats who depend on us. Last year’s event was a joyful whirlwind of purrs, late‑night cuddles, and shared purpose, and we’re excited to bring that energy back again. This fundraiser is especially meaningful to us because it directly supports our medical fund — the lifeline that makes so much of our work possible.

FUR currently houses more than 80 cats at our facility, many of whom arrived in critical condition. Medical care is our largest and most urgent expense, and it’s often the difference between survival and heartbreak. We take on the cases that truly have nowhere else to go: kittens fighting infections, seniors needing diagnostics, cats from outdoor colonies who are too sick to remain outside. Every dollar raised during the Slumber Pawty helps us continue saying “yes” to the cats who need us most.

We’re looking forward to making this year’s event even more memorable. Participants will spend a full day and night alongside our adoptable cats, sharing their space, their routines, and their irresistible charm. We have a lineup of fun activities planned, from enrichment sessions to cozy nighttime story hours, all designed to showcase the personalities of the cats who call FUR home. It’s a chance to support lifesaving work while experiencing the magic of rescue up close — and we can’t wait to share it with our community.
