Hey Y’all!
I will be participating in CARE Humane Society’s Inaugural Slumber Pawty at the shelter to help raise money for their Transport Fund. I’ve been a volunteer at CARE for nearly 3 years and have experienced first hand how extremely dedicated the team is at advocating for all their animals; with the ultimate goal in placing each one into a loving forever home. However, sometimes those forever homes are not within our own community and require the animals to be transported elsewhere and often to other states. The good news is that when a dog is transported, it is often directly to a potential adopters home.
Here are some of the costs that will be covered by the Transport Fund:
*. Vehicle maintenance and gas
*. Animal supples (collars, leashes, food, crates, etc.)
* Veterinary care (routine and any additional needs to prep the animal for transport)
* Driver expenses (meals)
Every dog that is either adopted, fostered or transported out of the shelter frees up space for other animals to come in, thereby saving even more lives.
CARE Humane Society is a non-profit organization and fundraisers like the Slumber Pawty not only bring awareness to this amazing organization; but also have a direct impact on the lives of the animals in their care and future animals coming in. I humbly ask you to consider donating to this fundraiser. Any donation no matter how big or small has an immediate impact.
Thank you!
Amy & Mayson (pictured above)
A little bit about Mayson 😊
Mayson is a 4 year old neutered male weighing in at roughly 56lbs. He is super smart and full of energy! Once that energy is released, he becomes quite the snuggle bug. Mayson is ALL BOY! He loves adventure. He loves walks, hikes and isn’t afraid to be in a pool of water. Mayson is treat motivated which has become a valuable tool when training. So far, Mayson can sit, lay down, paw shake and stay (we are working on the length of stay 🤣). And if you are one of the lucky ones, he will even give you a big wet kiss on the cheek. Mayson has been in multiple shelters and is currently in his second stay at CARE. Spending nearly 3/4 of your life in a shelter is not a way to live; but his long shelter time has not tarnished his overwhelming desire to find his own forever home. Mayson truly deserves a chance and with patience I promise you will be rewarded with a loyal companion for life.
