For years, I talked about volunteering at the animal shelter "one day". When I retired, "some day" became right NOW!
I chose to volunteer at Cincinnati Animal CARE because they are an open intake, no-kill non-profit shelter.
- That means they take all of the stray dogs in Hamilton County!
- That means they maintain at least a 90% live release rate!
- That also means they need to fundraise to go above and beyond for the animals
I continue volunteering because I love the commitment and passion of the staff and the other volunteers. I love that, as a volunteer, I am able to do so many things to help.
AND
I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ the dogs!
I started out walking dogs to get them out of their kennels and love on them. I got steps and doggy kisses. I posted the pups on social media.
I wanted to do MORE! I started getting dogs from their kennels to attend doggy Play Group. 20-40 dogs playing and being socialized every outing. I was hooked! More training and now I LEAD Play Groups 3 times a week.
Hopefully you have seen my posts with pictures and videos of the dogs in Play Group! These dogs get the chance to play and play hard. They have FUN! They hang on just a little longer until they get adopted.
I show off the dogs and hope people will foster or adopt a pup from Cincinnati Animal CARE.
This is the first time I have ever asked for $$$. But here I am....just asking.
Zoey a Play Group Helper!
