2026 CCHS Shelter Slumber Pawty

*** All donations this year to my fundraiser will go to honor the memory of my beloved Chauncey, who passed on March 20, 2026 at 17 years and 8 months. He was my best friend and the reason behind my love and dedication to animal welfare***

As the Caroline County Humane Society participates in its 4th Shelter Slumber Pawty, I couldn’t be prouder of our “little shelter that could.” Last year, CCHS raised over $50,000 and placed 4th in the United States among participating shelters. We have also been the only shelter in Maryland to participate for the past several years.

This night is not just about raising money—it’s about raising awareness. Shelter Slumber Pawty gives participants a chance to experience what it’s like for an animal to spend the night in a shelter. Amazing participants spend the night in the kennels alongside both cats and dogs, gaining a deeper understanding of just how challenging shelter life can be for these animals.

This year, I’m helping raise funds as part of our Board of Directors fundraising team, and I couldn’t be prouder to serve as the Board President of the Caroline County Humane Society.

In 2025, our open-admission shelter achieved a live release rate of over 90%. In addition to this incredible milestone, we run an aggressive TNR program, operate a public pet pantry, and offer free spay and neuter services for county animals. Because of these efforts, we have seen our intake numbers drop substantially.

As we continue working hard to make a difference in the lives of animals and people in Caroline County, I hope you will consider supporting my goal of raising $3,000 for the Caroline County Humane Society.
