April’s Shelter Slumber Pawty

Remember how much fun it was to gather for a slumber party when you were younger? Staying up late, eating junk food, playing games, and hanging out with your friends? Now imagine doing all of that and more, with some shelter animals. That’s right! On Saturday, April 18th, 2026, Animal House Project is hosting a 24-Hour Shelter Slumber Pawty! 

The National Shelter Slumber Pawty is a collaborative fundraising event that brings together shelters from across the nation (and beyond) to help raise funds and awareness for shelter pets.

Amazing animal lovers spend 24 hours at a shelter; eating, sleeping and pawtying with shelter pets while raising money for their favorite shelter.

What does Animal House Project do?

AHP helps pets stay at home and out of shelters by providing essential support to families in need.

The organization is dedicated to providing pet food and care services to families facing financial crisis in eastern Berks, Chester, and western Montgomery counties. With a mission to keep pets healthy, safe, and in loving homes, Animal House Project relies on donations and volunteer support to continue its work. Their Companion Pet Food Pantry is open to those in need.

Recently, they hosted an Affordable Vaccine Clinic, offering vaccinations and heartworm prevention to protect pets from diseases.
