Well here we are, less than a week away from the 24-hour Slumber Pawty, and my dream of making a difference is coming true - ONLY BECAUSE of the incredible generosity shown by my fundraiser donors! These monetary gifts go towards the Sanctuary Program that two of my roommates are members of. It's kind of an "Elite Club" for senior pets who will live out their lives at Scout's/YAH. Their health is monitored, they are medically cared for, they get all the love and attention they want, get yummy meals and warm baths, and they never have to worry about being alone again. Security. Safety. Sanctuary.

WHOO HOO!!! It's time again for the 24-hour Shelter Slumber Pawty!!
This is a donation seeking event that highlights the plight of animal shelters across the US, and internationally. Costs to care for the abundant animal residents continue to be at an all-time high while monies to do so are at an all-time low. Facility staff and volunteers such as myself will "live" at participating shelters April 18-19, orchestrated kind of like a sit-in, and creatively collect contributions for that specific organization.
I'm SO INCREDIBLY HONORED to again be a part of this fun and immensely important fundraising effort for Young at Heart, and I hope and pray to make a huge impact with your most gracious donations - like we did in 2023, 2024, and 2025! You will be giving second chances!!

In a perfect world, every senior pet would spend their last years doted on by a loving family. But sadly, those that end up in shelters rarely get that chance. That's where Young at Heart Senior Pet Adoptions comes in!
Founded in 2005, Young at Heart™ is a 501c3 nonprofit rescue for senior (seven years old and older) dogs and cats. They are the Chicago area's oldest rescue organization dedicated just to senior dogs and cats. Young at Heart's cage-free adoption center opened in Woodstock IL in September 2019.
Young at Heart's mission is to provide senior dogs and cats with a safe haven to ensure they live with comfort, compassion, and companionship in their golden years. They find loving homes for adoptable senior pets and offer a peaceful sanctuary life for those that are less adoptable. Join us for the 2026 Shelter Slumber Pawty! Young at Heart is different than a traditional animal shelter, and there will be A LOT of fun over 24 hours raising funds to make their mission possible!
