I'm raising funds to give our precious shelter animals and second chance to a great life

I’ve been volunteering at the Stratford Animal Shelter,  as part of the Stratford Animal Rescue Society (STARS), where I have seen first-hand how the ACO's and other volunteers transform a broken animal into a loved family member.  I have been lucky enough to participate in this transformation over the last 4 years. I help terrified dogs with shattered hearts, or medically ill  heal and learn to trust and love again through training, socializing and enrichment and walking,  as well as fundraise and organize the facility.

The reality of an animal rescue is that it takes a village and requires many resources such as urgent medical attention, specialized care & food, (behavioral training, calming supplements, specialized food) and a comfortable environment. Unfortunately, our operating budget struggles to cover everything.

Our shelter is participating in a nationwide 24-hour fundraising event beginning noon Saturday, April 18th through noon Sunday, April 19th in an effort to raise funds for our animals that desperately need our care, love and help in finding safe, loving homes.

The Shelter Slumber Pawty is a collaborative fundraising event across the country that brings together animal welfare organizations to raise funds and awareness for shelter animals. This event directly funds medical care, enrichment, training, and the extras that go far beyond what the municipal budget covers at my animal shelter. This makes a real difference for animals in our care.

Your donation today would directly fund the care that allows us to saves 100s of animals each year.

-$10 can buy an enrichment toy, allowing the animal to decompress and gain confidence
-$25 can provide a warm bed, calming treats or other specialized supplements

-$50 can help cover vaccinations

-$100 can provide a 30lb bag of food which would feed one dog for the entire month

$200 can help spay, neuter or help provide emergency medical care

During these 24 hours, myself and other participating volunteers will eat, sleep and 'pawty' with our adoptable shelter animals all while raising funds for their essential needs. The event will be live streamed so please join in on the fun!
