Dawn’s Drive for Adoption

Not so long ago, many of the animals in our shelter had something different—a home, a family, a sense of comfort and security.

Now, they wait.

As our Adoption Center Manager, I see it every day. The hopeful eyes peering out of kennels. The excited tails wagging for anyone who walks by. The quiet moments in between, when all they really want is to belong to someone again.

That’s why I am taking part in our Slumber Pawty fundraiser—spending 24 hours sleeping in a kennel to stand in solidarity with the animals she works so hard to find homes for.

While one night may not compare to what they experience, it’s a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
