I’ve committed to raising $1,000 for Metro East Humane Society’s Shelter Slumber Pawty, and I’d love for you to join me.

For years, Metro East Humane Society has been more than a place to me; it’s  part of my story.

While I’ve since stepped away from my role as Development Manager, that chapter will always be especially meaningful. It gave me the opportunity to share my gifts as a writer and my passion as an animal lover to connect with the incredible people in this community and help advance a cause that matters so deeply to so many of us.

My connection goes far beyond that role. It’s personal.

I became an adopter when Annabelle found her way into my life, showing me just how transformative a second chance can be. 

I opened my home as a foster, helping several animals take their first steps toward healing. Then came the (in)famous Roxy Marie, whose too-short but so-powerful journey many of you joined. Roxy Marie, Lenny & Annabelle

And now, there’s George. Each one of these souls has left a permanent imprint on my heart and they remind me why this work matters so much.

This year, I’m participating virtually in support of MEHS in a way that feels especially meaningful. I’ll be welcoming a shelter dog into my home, not just as a temporary stop, but as a safe space to decompress, adjust, and learn to trust again. I’ll foster, nurture, and ultimately help this dog find a loving forever home.

This journey is one I want you to see up close. In fact, I want you to join me again to see those quiet moments of progress, that first wag of a tail, that courage it takes for a scared animal to feel safe again. It’s so powerful and it’s only possible because of support from people like you.

Donations to my fundraising page go directly toward saving the lives of local companion animals. They help provide the critical medical care, nourishment, shelter, and the second chances these pets deserve. Every dollar makes it possible for another animal to be rescued, healed, and loved.
