FROM KENNEL TO COUCH: Why I'm sleeping over at Care Humane Society!

Anyone who knows me knows how much I have always loved animals, they offer a kind of loyalty and joy that is hard to find anywhere else. But loving them also means recognizing when they need a little extra help to find their "happily ever after."  That's why I am joining others and having a slumber PAWTY at the shelter in a kennel with one of the wonderful dogs there who is still waiting for their forever.

THE MISSION: KEEPING THE WHEELS TURNING

We aren't just sleeping in kennels for the fun of it, although the doggie snuggles are definitely a perk! We are raising vital funds for their TRANSPORT TEAM!

In many areas, shelters are over capacity, but there are incredible rescues in other states waiting with open arms and empty foster homes. The transport team is the literal bridge to those homes. And every dog transported out opens up a kennel for another animal in need here. Two lives saved! 

I also want to take a moment to shout out the incredible staff there! They are top notch and work tirelessly to ensure every tail wags and every belly is full!  I have had personal experience with this, in that I have been volunteering and fostering there for several years.  I even foster failed and kept my sweet girl Zoey!  They love every animal that comes through their as if they were their own!
