They come in broken, sad, angry, hurt, starving and without hope. We give them medical treatment, a full belly, a warm bed, lots of TLC and love. Most of all, we give them hope and help them trust in people again. And when they are ready, we find them a loving home to call their own. 

I've been volunteering at the shelter for almost 10 years and have seen a lot of sad situations that tear at my heart. And I've watched those same dogs, cats, puppies and kittens change and leave to loving homes and people, making everything worthwhile. 

The last year and a half, I've also started fostering kittens and small dogs, already fostering 115 animals in that time. Bottle feeding kittens every couple of hours is a real challenge. Many also need medicines and, of course, must be kept warm. The dogs are rarely housebroken, many are scared and have little or no training. There is nothing I love better than snuggling with the kittens and pups and getting them ready for their forever home. People always say they don't know how I can let my fosters go. It is very hard to say goodbye to them, but I know there is always another kitten or dog that needs me.

I know most of you follow my Facebook posts and pictures of the shelter animals and my fosters, following their journey and adoption. Donations to the shelter help make this possible. Many of you have adopted from us and/or are moms and dads to pets yourself. I hope you will consider a donation to help me raise money for the shelter pets to allow us to help rescue more animals.
