Abbey's Slumber Pawty with MEHS!

Hey, Pawty People!

I am excited to participate in the National Shelter Slumber Pawty with Metro East Humane Society (MEHS)! This event is a wide-reaching collaborative effort within the animal welfare community. This year, on April 18, I will be participating in my FIRST Slumber Pawty, a 24-hour event where I get to snooze with a shelter pup--and raise some money along the way. 

Here’s how it works: each of the participating shelters has recruited fifteen humans (like me!) who are committed to raising $1,000 for their shelter. I will spend the night in an animal’s kennel and share updates on social media, while trying to meet my $1,000 goal. Are you in?

Here are a few reasons why your support of MEHS will be truly lifesaving:

-MEHS has a robust low-cost spay and neuter program that serves the metro-east community and beyond. I get to work every day with our community's animals, making them healthier and happier and helping families access the vet care they need.

-We have a community food pantry that supports families in need with pet food and other supplies. Keeping pets with their people is the name of the game and is an effort that I am extremely passionate about!

-MEHS has the ability to accept animals from a diverse group of animal control organizations that simply do not have the resources to care for and adopt out every pet. We can accept dogs and cats that are in need of considerable medical care that might otherwise not make it out of shelters alive.
