Will Dempsey's Shelter Slumber Party Fundraiser

Hey everyone, Will actually wrote out all the details for this and a short little summary… but I told him we needed to add way more 😂 So he handed me the computer and here we are… and if you know me, you know this is about to be a whole lot more detailed. It’s Tiffany, by the way!

I told him he needs to bring his guitar that night… y’all think the animals would love it? 😂 I’m really hoping we can catch that on video or on Facebook live the shelter will be doing… because honestly, that could go either way 😅 Actually… now that I think about it, maybe not… they might think it’s a chew toy 😂

On a more real note though… after we lost one of our dogs, Will wrote a song about it. It’s one of my favorite songs he’s ever written, and it came from one of the hardest things our family has gone through. I’m really hoping he decides to put it on his next album, because it’s that good… and I truly think y’all are going to love it when you finally get to hear it.

When we lost our boxer, Harlie, it hit all of us hard. She wasn’t just a dog… she was our first baby. During that time, the veterinarian at the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter showed our family a level of compassion and care we will never forget. And that connection didn’t just happen by chance, Will was the one who reached out, talked with her, and built that relationship during such a hard moment for us. She didn’t just do her job, she showed up for our family in a way that made something incredibly painful feel just a little more peaceful.

And it’s not just her… the entire staff there continues to show up every single day for these animals and for families like ours. That kind of heart doesn’t go unnoticed.

If you know us, you know animals have always been a big part of our life. We both step in when someone needs help, whether that’s fostering, helping find homes, or getting animals where they need to go safely. I might be the one who brings them through the door sometimes 😂 but Will is just as much a part of making sure they’re cared for and taken where they need to be. We don’t keep them (even though I would keep every single one if I could), but together we always make sure they’re taken care of.

Right now we’ve got our rescue Lab mix running around, and our tiny chihuahua we inherited from my grandparents… and somehow, she decided Will is her person. And honestly… who knows after this little “animal party” we’re about to have 😂 it’s going to be hard to resist bringing home another one. Because let’s be real… in 5 hours, somebody in this family is 100% going to fall in love with one of those animals. How could you not?

So when the shelter reached out about this fundraiser, it was something Will was immediately all in on. On April 18th, Will will be at the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter from 6PM to 11PM as part of their fundraiser, and he’ll be paired with a shelter animal for the night. We’ll share who he’s paired with as soon as we find out, because we’re just as curious as y’all are.

And the best part… this isn’t just about him showing up. We’re showing up as a family. The kids wanted to be part of this so bad, and when your kids care about something like this, you can't say no.

This night is about animals that don’t have a voice and animals that were left behind. These animals are waiting for a second chance, and St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter gives them that every single day. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

Any individual or business that donates $100 will have their name or logo displayed on our kennel that night. Any donation of $1,000 will have your name or logo featured across every kennel at the event, which is an incredible way to support the entire shelter.

We’ll also be giving shoutouts throughout the night to everyone who supports individuals, families, and businesses, because we want that support to be seen and appreciated.
