It is Slumber Party time and this will be the last year for team Rojo. Rojo crossed over the rainbow bridge last year, leaving his mark on all our hearts. If you knew of Rojo, then you knew. He wasn't the easy dog. He was complicated and he made you earn his trust.
It took me months to earn that trust, and I considered it an honor. Rojo didn't leave behind a long list of friends or the perfect story, but what he did leave behind was truth. The truth is that some dogs aren't easy. That some come to us knowing nothing but fear and pain. And because of that, their love doesn't always look soft and simple - sometimes it's rigid, guarded, and hard to earn.
Rojo loved in a way that not everyone could understand. He chose his people carefully...but when he chose you, it meant everything.
Rojo's legacy will not be the labels that the world put on him, but it will be the impression that he left on all of us at Pound Pets. We all loved him with our whole heart
