Welcome to my NHSPCA Slumber Pawty page!

I'm excited to share with you that starting at noon on Saturday, April 18th, I'll be spending 24 hours side-by-side with a shelter animal at the New Hampshire SPCA's Shelter Slumber Pawty. This means literally hanging out in their kennel, caring for them, and even sleeping on the kennel floor! All to raise funds and awareness of the importance of high quality care in the shelter.

I'm committed to help every animal find a safe and loving home and will be fundraising throughout the day and night to raise awareness for the lifesaving work of the NHSPCA.

Why I'm Participating in the NHSPCA Slumber Pawty

I have been volunteering at the NHSPCA for about a year and a half.  My volunteer days are my favorite days of the week!  Obviously, I love spending time with the cats but I also love connecting with the other volunteers and staff.  There is no mention of the outside world.  We talk about how adorable the kittens are, or how we feel for the ones that are still there, week after week.  We talk about how excited we are when a really grumpy cat finally comes out of his box and lets you pet him.

And, we have a new member of the family who came from the NHSPCA!  Bobby mentioned that he was ready for a cat and magically, an orange cat named Nugget showed up.  Nugget's family surrendered him to the shelter because he wasn't uysing his litter box. The minute I saw him I knew he was the one.  The shelter neutered him and made sure he had all his vaccinations (as they do for all animals). And I was right - Nugget is the PURRRFECT cat for Bobby!

My goal is to raise $2,000 to support the mission of the NHSPCA and I need your help. Please consider a gift of any size knowing that every dollar raised will make a difference for homeless, neglected, and abused animals.  Together we will help provide safe shelter, attentive care, critical medical services, and the second chance that each animal so greatly deserves.

Thank you for your support!

At last year's Shelter Slumber Pawty, I stayed with Big Ames.  His family sent an update a few months ago with a picture of him now.  Just look at that beautiful coat!
