Hey, Pawty People!

I am so excited to participate in the National Shelter Slumber Pawty with Metro East Humane Society! This event is the biggest and most far-reaching collaborative effort among the animal welfare community. This year's Slumber Pawty takes place on April 18th, 2025 at noon and lasts for a 24-hour period.

Here’s how it works: each of the participating shelters is recruiting animal lovers (like me!) who are committed to raising $1,000 for the shelters they are supporting. I have committed to fundraising on behalf of Metro East Humane Society. We fundraisers will spend the night in an animal’s kennel and share updates with our followers on social media regarding information about our respective organizations and their missions, promote their community programs and ask for donations toward our fundraising goals.

The purpose of us spending the night in a kennel is to experience what it's like for these shelter animals waiting for their forever home. Last year was my first year actually sleeping in a kennel with a dog and it was such an eye opening experience, even after working at animal shelters for five years.

I am supporting Metro East so that we can continue our life-saving work by caring for these homeless animals by getting them spayed and neutered, and providing them with proper medical care like sweet Snowball pictured above. She has a severe skin infection, ear infection, broken teeth that will need to be removed, and entropion, which means her eyelids are turned inwards and her eyelashes are rubbing on and irritating her eyes. She is currently on eye medication for that, but will likely require surgery when her skin becomes healthier. Your donations also help TNR efforts and low cost spays and neuters for the community, which in turn, helps keep those (what would have been) surprise litters out of the shelter.

I respectfully ask for your support of this event through a donation of any size toward my $1,000 goal.

I appreciate your time and consideration of this request, and hope you will consider the value of your investment in impacting the lives of thousands of homeless and neglected animals in need of loving, forever families.

Thank you in advance! Let's Pawty!
