2026 CCHS Shelter Slumber Pawty

This is my third year participating in the Caroline County Humane Society Shelter Slumber Pawty, and it’s something I carry in my heart long before the event begins. For one night, I’ll sleep beside a shelter pup, spending 24 hours living life the way they do — waiting in a kennel, craving comfort, and hoping someone won’t forget them.

When the shelter quiets down and the lights go out, it becomes painfully real. You feel how much these dogs long for reassurance, warmth, and love. You realize how brave they are to keep trusting humans, even after being let down. That single night stays with you — because for them, this isn’t temporary.

I come back year after year because no dog should have to wonder if they matter. Every donation helps provide safety, medical care, nourishment, and the chance at a forever home for animals who have already been through so much.
