I'm excited to participate in my third CCHS Shelter Slumber Pawty!

$5,000 goal

On April 5, 2025, I am spending the night in a dog kennel at the Caroline County Humane Society as part of the Shelter Slumber Pawty Fundraiser. This year, I'm fundraising in honor of my foster dog, Stokely.

When Stokely first came to us as a foster, he was skin and bones with chronic ear infections, bald patches all over his body, and itchy skin. Stokely had obviously not lived the best life prior to coming to the shelter but you would never know that based on his personality. This boy is so sweet and easy-going! CCHS knew he was worth fighting for, even if we knew it might take awhile to get him back in shape.

If it hadn't been for the staff, volunteers, and resources available to him at CCHS, Stokely's health would not have recovered. He's now packed on the pounds, thanks to a high protein food. His bald patches are filling in and his fur is now quite luxurious and soft (so much so that he needs and enjoys a good Furminator session every now and then). His ear issues are now manageable, though he does require regular cleanings. Stokely's quality of life is finally where it should be and all of this is thanks to CCHS!

But here's the thing - CCHS would never have been able to afford the care that Stokely needed if it weren't for our donors. More than 50% off CCHS's operating budget is funded solely by donations. That is why this year, I have doubled my Slumber Pawty fundraising goal to $2,000 in the hopes that I can raise much needed funds to help animals like Stokely.

Please consider giving to support the pets-in-waiting at CCHS. No amount is too small! Every dollar given will go toward the care of animals at the shelter! I thank you and Stokely, especially, thanks you!

P.S. Stokely is still available for adoption - please spread the word to help him find his family!
