Kristin's Slumber Pawty for WCHS!

My mom can attest to my love of animals. I’ve had a LOT of pets!

I’ve shared my life with parakeets, fish, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, and cats; and today, my family includes four rescues, two of them I met right here at WCHS. The wonder and love I feel when I’m around them never fades.

When my kids grew older, I finally had the time to give back. Three years ago, I walked into WCHS for volunteer adoption counselor training, and I knew instantly I was exactly where I belonged.

My why? Connection. Sitting with animals whose worlds have been shaken. Showing them they’re safe. Helping them find the right people who will love them for the rest of their lives.

Pets change us. They soften us. They forgive what they should never have had to endure. And they make this world infinitely better.
