John & Marie's Slumber Pawty for MACS

Michigan Anti Cruelty Society (MACS) is proud to participate in the Shelter Slumber Pawty for the fourth consecutive year.  The Shelter Slumber Pawty is more than just a fun overnight event — it’s a heartfelt effort to give homeless animals the comfort, care, and second chances they deserve.

During the Shelter Slumber Pawty, participants symbolically “spend the night” in support of the animals in the shelter, raising funds that directly provide warm beds, nourishing meals, medical treatment, enrichment activities, and lifesaving care. Every dollar raised helps us create a safe, loving environment while animals wait for their forever families.

Pictured here is our current foster mama (Buttercup) and her litter of 5 kittens that are calling our spare bedroom home.  Her babies are 3 weeks old and still rely on mama for almost everything.  She relies on us to keep her safe, happy, clean, and fed while she continues to raise them.  Once ready, the kittens will be returned to the shelter for their final checkup.  Then mama and babies will be available for adoption.  Contact the shelter or visit their website (www.macsshelter.org) to get more information about the adoption approval process. 

This year, our goal is to raise $1000 to help the shelter reach their combined goal of $25,000 to help the voiceless animals that enter through the doors.

People choose to fundraise for an animal shelter because every animal deserves safety, care, and a chance at a loving home. Donations help provide essentials like food, medical treatment, vaccinations, and shelter, while also supporting lifesaving programs such as spay/neuter and emergency care. For many, it’s a way to give a voice to animals who cannot speak for themselves, honor a beloved pet, or make a meaningful impact in their community.
