Welcome to the Humane Society of Sheboygan County
Sheboygan County’s only open-admissions, no-kill shelter.

The Humane Society of Sheboygan County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals, relieving animal suffering, and extending humane education. Since 1964, we have served as a safe haven for animals in need and now care for more than 4,700 animals each year through sheltering and community support programs.

Each year, more than 2,000 pets come to us as strays and are either reclaimed by their families or adopted into loving homes. In addition, we support an average of 2,700 animals annually through programs designed to keep pets safe, healthy, and with the people who love them.

Our Companion Animal Assistance Program (CAAP) provides a year of pet food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, helping keep pets with their families during difficult times. We also support individuals working with Safe Harbor Domestic Abuse Shelter, the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter, or our local Warming Shelter by temporarily holding their pets at no cost while they secure safe housing.

The Humane Society of Sheboygan County is committed to addressing animal overpopulation through accessible spay and neuter services. We also offer low-cost community programs, including vaccine clinics, Trap-Neuter-Return for feral cats, euthanasia and cremation services.

We are funded 100% by donations from our community. Every gift helps us rescue, rehabilitate, care for, and adopt animals in our community.
