Get ready for the cutest pawjama party you've ever seen!
Join us for a full 24 hours of "pawtying" and raising funds for the animals during the 2026 Shelter Slumber Pawty: For one full day (and night!), we’ll be eating, sleeping, and pawtying at our shelter, farm, and wildlife center to spotlight what it really takes to care for animals around the clock—from meals to meet-and-greets to enrichment and so much more.
How you can help:
Storytime: Whatcom Humane Society
It all began in 1902, when WHS was established as the first nonprofit animal welfare organization in Whatcom County. Serving our region and beyond for 124 years and counting, today we operate a domestic animal shelter, a 10-acre farm, and a wildlife rehabilitation center, collectively serving over 5,000 animals each year. As an open-admission organization, no animal is ever turned away from our care. We also provide 24/7 animal control and rescue services, humane education for K-12 learners and community outreach events for all ages, and public services that include a community pet food bank and low-cost spay/neuter and microchipping.
Help us write the next chapter with your support of this year's event!
