On April 18, 2026, Lionel’s Legacy will host a 24-hour Shelter Slumber Pawty at our Rock House, where members of the public are invited to spend the night with our senior dogs. During the Slumber Pawty, each participant will be teamed up with one of our senior sweeties, creating a powerful, personal connection as they spend quality time with the very dog their fundraising helps support.
This event raises critical funds to support homeless senior dogs in our community. Lionel’s Legacy rescues an average of 100 senior dogs each year from local shelters and from owners who have passed away or are too ill to care for their aging pets. The cost of caring for a senior dog is approximately $1,500 in the first year, with an average of $750 for each additional year. Many of the dogs in our care are forever fosters, remaining with us for life due to age or chronic medical conditions. Our goal for this fun event is to raise $20,000 for senior dogs! Funds raised through the Shelter Slumber Pawty help provide essential food, medical care, medications, and ongoing support so these dogs can live out their lives with comfort and dignity.
