Founded in 1911, the SPCA of Hancock County is an independent no kill shelter serving Hancock County and surrounding communities.  Our inaugural Slumber Pawty in 2026 is raising funds to go toward our Feel Better Fund, which provides necessary veterinary treatment to animals in our care. Last year, we spent over $38,000 on veterinary procedures for our animals, and with a successful fundraiser, we hope to be able to provide care to even more animals this year. The Slumber Pawty is raising funds between March 30th and April 19th as a part of the Feel Better Fund spring appeal.

With your help, we can help animals like Sora, the 2 year old Akita.  Sora came to the SPCA after being abandoned in a house.  She is very loving and cuddly, but we noticed that her left eye was irritating her. Taking her to the veterinarian, they discovered that she has entropion, where her eyelid rolls in and her eyelashes were constantly irritating her eye.  A surgery has corrected the issue, and she will soon be ready for adoption.Sora the Akita

Our Feel Better Fund also goes towards animals like Ralphie, who had an intestinal blockage.  Ralphie's owners had to make the difficult decision to surrender Ralphie in order to save his life. Ralphie had to have emergency surgery, and has been in medical foster while he heals.  These are just two stories from the hundreds of animals that come through our doors every year. We could also talk about Scooby, Leila, Willard, Morpheus, Punkin, Mr. J....so many amazing animals and your support means they can get the extra care they need before they can find a loving home.

We hope that you will consider supporting the work that we do.
