KICK-OFF!!
We can't wait to participate in this great event https://youtu.be/02yB1zcKX1Y
Takes A Village No-Kill Rescue (ITV) is a community-centered, volunteer-powered rescue formed in 2010 to help homeless animals in Vanderburgh County and beyond. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." ITV opened the first no-kill rescue center in Evansville in the summer of 2012. Since we formed, we have rescued thousands of homeless animals and our efforts have been recognized with awards for ten years in a row! In 2021, we were voted “Best Local Non-profit” by Evansville Living Magazine. In 2022, we were voted the platinum winner of the “Best Animal Shelter” by readers of the Evansville Courier & Press.
In October 2019, ITV expanded our operations to include Spencer County, Indiana, opening a second no-kill facility in a county that did not have an operating facility to help homeless animals. Since then, we have successfully operated two no-kill facilities serving Southwest Indiana and Northwest Kentucky. We have helped almost 10,000 animals since we started. In 2022 alone, we helped 1435 animals and our save rate is 99.96%.
ITV averages over 175 animals relying on us to provide them with food, housing, veterinary care and, ultimately, find them a loving forever home. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in helping bully breeds, black animals, senior animals, animals with medical needs, lost animals and other “hard-to-place” animals.
Our operations costs are over $600,000 each year. We rely heavily on fundraisers and donors to continue our life-saving work.
On March 25, 2023, animal rescues across the country will come together for the FIRST 24-hour Shelter Slumber Pawty! ITV will be participating with the goal to raise $5000 for the homeless animal of our rescue!
