THE SHELTER HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE FOR 90 YEARS THIS YEAR!
HELP US CELEBRATE BY SHOWING THE OTHER SHELTERS WHAT DETROIT GRIT IS ABOUT BY DONATING TO HELP US EXCEED OUR ORIGINAL GOAL OF $15,000 SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO BE THERE FOR THE VOICELESS ANIMALS.
The Michigan Anti Cruelty Society (MACS) is the last OPEN ADMISSION shelter in the City of Detroit. Some organizations do not accept stray or surrendered animals, while others require an appointment and charge a fee to surrender animals. For citizens of Detroit in desperate situations, they have no choice but to come to MACS. There isn't a fee that is required to surrender an animal, a small donation may be requested but if not obtainable, we won't turn the animal away.
The Michigan Anti Cruelty Society is a Charity Navigator 4-star rated 501(c)(3) animal rescue, shelter and veterinary clinic serving primarily Detroit, but also other areas of Southeast Michigan since 1935.
This event will aide current and future animals that come into our care like Treasure seen below. She was found outside in the cold, brought to us clutching to life.
She has been adopted, being spoiled and being able to play like a puppy does!
We are joining animal shelters nationwide to participate in a Shelter Slumber Pawty. On April 5th, invited participants will be coming for a sleepover! For 24 hours, participants have committed to raising a minimum $500 for MACS. Participants will have their own unique link through MightyCause for donations.
Our 3rd year!! WHY? We want to show the public what shelter life is like; raise money for the operating expenses associated with the shelter, which includes feeding, animal enrichment and medical expenses.
