Buffalo County Humane Association is joining animal shelters and humane societies throughout the state of Wisconsin, partnering in a global event that promotes awareness for adoptable pets.
2026 marks BCHA's first annual Shelter Slumber Pawty. The Shelter Slumber Pawty is an annual, nationwide event that raises funds and awareness for animal shelters through overnight stays with shelter animals. BCHA volunteers are committed to emphasizing presence, storytelling, and community engagement to improve outcomes for homeless pets in Buffalo County.
During the 24-hour event, participants remain at Buffalo County Humane Association, staying in kennels and other shelter spaces. We will share our experience in real time on social media and remain present long enough for animals to settle, decompress, and connect. Unlike traditional fundraisers, the Shelter Slumber Pawty centers on staying - helping the community better understand what shelter life is like for the animals who live in them.
For the 2026 Slumber Pawty, BCHA is looking to bring in adopters, volunteers, and donors who are committed to our shared mission of humane care for stray and surrendered companion pets.
