MCAS Slumber Pawty!

We are the Marion County Animal Shelter, located in Mullins, South Carolina.

Nestled in the rural heart of the Pee Dee region, our facility is dedicated to providing exceptional care for the animals in our community. Our dedicated team includes:

• Director: Breanna Courcy

• Full-time Office Manager: Angela Burroughs

• Part-time Kennel Technicians: Emily Grice and Elizabeth Aleshire

Annually, we intake approximately 1,400 animals. Since Breanna Courcy assumed the role of Director in January 2024, we have proudly transitioned to a no-kill shelter. Under her leadership, we have also constructed two new kennel buildings equipped with heating and air conditioning for the comfort of our dogs. Prior to 2024, the Marion County shelter operated as an outdoor facility.

Looking ahead, we aim to further enhance our infrastructure by constructing another kennel building, transitioning our entire operation to an indoor facility. Presently, our shelter does not have designated isolation or intake areas; all intakes are processed in the office. Our future plans include building a new front building that will feature meet-and-greet rooms, a front waiting area, office spaces, an isolation area, and an intake area.
